We all like dreaming – cool clothing, cars or bikes, huge houses and palaces, princes and princesses – just about anything! But the dreaming I am talking about is about aspiring, about becoming or achieving something really great!
In the present era, the potentially successful are those who are possessed of courage and zeal, who advance fearlessly and take the initiative in the face of risks. They are the ones who shape the world and its future,
they are the ones who create History for the next generations to marvel upon! These are just the people who have driven out of their petty circumstances and risen high above!
To confine yourself and blaming your inferiority is not the way out! Every human being is being blessed with a nascent interior power, but its just that not many of us realise it in its true sense. And some of us who do, fail to realise that it is boundless.
A farmer sows the seeds in the right soil for the right season. He learns from experience and experiments which seeds yield better in which soil and in what season. Similar is the case when you want to exploit your potential.
Many of the great things the world has today is but from Dreams envisioned by the brave humans who had the “guts” to think and dream!
The only thing that can hinder you is you YOURSELF! Imagine, fantacise, and visualise your dreams, your future, in that mighty centre called “The Brain” which has no limits or confines. You can dream of a thousand different things out of which at least ONE would turn into reality!
I remember a friend of mine, who loved planes and always aspired to fly, to tour the skies. Although he knew his father couldn’t afford to pay for his study, he never stopped himself from getting his hands on any books on Aeronautics, Aero-planes, Helicopters, Fighter-planes, etc. He collected pictures of hundreds of flying-machines and always talked about them. It is his dream that he flies a plane some day. How many of us are this strong that, despite our poor situations, we persistently dream about reaching high?
I know a person who has done his Ph.D. in Chemistry but is now pursuing MBBS, Why? Because it was his dream to be a medical doctor! How many of us are this determined to achieve our dreams?
So what if our parents cant apparently afford our dreams and aspirations? So what if it has to take sacrifices? So what if its not “easy” to achieve it? If you work and strive for it with all the vigor and talent God has bestowed you with, do you think He will disappoint you? He is the one who paves the way, you just have to have the Will!
So what if you dream of becoming something out-of-the-crowd? So what if not everbody likes becoming that? So what if it doesnt pay back as others do? If it is your wish and desire to be that, go on and keep walking! A friend’s Dad always says, “Even if you want to become a carpenter, I have no problem, BUT you must try to be the Best One ever!”. And indeed, whatever you do, you must strive to do it with perfection.
There will be critics, there will be nagging and pestering people taking the shape of obstacles in your path. There will be envious and jealous people. But, do not care about them, for you must trust onto God. Remember, everything is in His hands and might. There’s nothing that happens without His Will. So, why get frightened and hitched to start upon your dream?
We as Indians, my dear brothers and sisters, have the genes of discovering, inquiring, researching, investigating, questioning, advancing, developing new horizons, inbuilt within us all. What great a pleasure would it be to be a part of that development? How blessed would those be who Dream ,and work to convert them into Reality, for the betterment of our nation in specific and the entire humanity in general?!
Where there’s a will, there are WAYS! Work and spend time in experimenting and understanding your potential, realising the areas you are good at. Involve yourself with like-minded people, mingle with clubs or projects that provide you to unveil and brush up your talents. Discuss and debate with people who are opposed to what you favour. Interact with your parents, share with them your desires and wishes, talk to them about your aspirations, ambitions and also listen to what expectations they have from you. Read, study and learn about the successful people and share their stories with your peer-group. It will all help you derive self-confidence, self-assurance and in turn self-reliance. Collect ideas, think innovatively and start dreaming upon it. Jotting them down on paper really helps a lot!
Dreaming doesn’t cost you! Imagination doesn’t have boundaries! All the more, as budding teens, you’re a skilled fantasizer! So DARE TO DREAM!!
As ever,
