THE FIRST RIDE ON A RED MONSTER!

25 07 2008

The chilled night was already set in with drizzling drops of rain at around 10 PM and the Bazaar flocked with the shopkeepers and customers while I waited for an Autorickshaw to pass by and give me a ride. The time of the night, the weather and my destination – were all a bad combination to add to my misery. After waiting for half an hour, and the rain beginning to intensify, I abruptly decided to board the huge red creature – the Hyderabad public bus. After all trials turned into failure, this was my only hope to get

The Ultimate Political Comedy!

25 07 2008

It was a warm and humid morning of the usual summer-time on the Monday of 21st July 2008. I had just came back from my only and 1-hour class of Monday and switched on the TV swapping the different channels. It was when I tuned into DD News that I remembered it was the first day of the hot debate that was to last for two days, following which there would be a decision agreed upon by the majority in favor of, or against, creating History and embarking upon a historical event and achievement.

Is ‘FISH’ = ‘GHOTI’ ?

25 07 2008

“There are times when English can be an International Blunder” ~ a teacher of mine has said it truely indeed! lol )

+ Pronounce the word ‘Enough’ -> here ‘F’ is ‘GH’

+ Pronounce the word ‘Women’ -> here ‘I’ is ‘O’

+ Pronounce the word “Foundation’ -> here ‘SH’ is ‘TI’

Now, Replacing the letters in ‘FISH’ with the above mentioned subtitutes, we get

=> GHOTI

So, Hence Proved that ‘FISH’ = ‘GHOTI’

Or have I gone barmy? lol (when your brain has nothing else to do, its never bad to think stupid!:)

NotePad gone batty?

25 07 2008

Hey ppl!

If you’re bored and do not have anything else in mind to do, play around with your pc!

1) Open an empty “.txt” file with notepad (a new file recommended)

2) Type – “Bush hid the facts” or “John hid the facts” (without the quotes)

3) Save it. Then Open it again.

4) What do you see?

Isn’t it a blunder?! Can anyone explain why this happens so?

What problem does Windows have with CON?

25 07 2008

I had found this somewhere on the internet.

Its really strange and no one could answer why this happens.

Try creating a folder named “con” – and guess what – You can’t!! Not even with DOS!!

What could be the reason behind this? If you do come to know by any chance, drop me a hint!

A Strange Day of a Strange Vacation of a Strange Year

23 07 2007

Today, maybe like the other holidays, was quite strange.

It began like the normal holidays, I woke up late (abt 10 am) and instantly, dizzily stared at my lappy’s screen – it was Fraz! He had come on MSN after about a month!! He had been messaging me since 7 A.M. but then had gone offline by 7:30 am. Sheesh! I missed him!! Now I wonder when he would be online again!

And then I refreshed myself and had a breakfast. After that, switched on the TV which showed those boring old stuff again, but I still watched until 12. And then, it suddenly dawned upon me to check on my friends – How many of them are here in KSA? How are they spending their holidays? etc…

To my surprise, I could get hold of only two of them! This is year is so strange, this vacation is so strange! Most of the Indians have gone for vacations – teachers, students – all! We couldn’t even find any to take tutions from! One friend told me he was simply wasting his holidays here. “I have 15 good channels and I spend my day with it, Or I go online, and sometimes read novels – the only useful thing I am doing is trying to improve my English” said he.

And the other one – his reply was really surprising!! He said “I have distanced myself from movies, I am studying like anything. Man, I have to prepare for IIT exams. We must work from now itself…blah blah blah…” We asked him if he wanted to join us to go to ‘Extra’ (the electronics megastore) but this is what he said – “Nah! Boring” – this was very unusual of him because as far as I know him, He is a Tech Savvy. But his IIT-Mania is nothing new to us – specially when his dad is a product of IIT. Well, we wish him the very Best of Luck!!

And the time flew like this….

It then struck me to explore WordPress and I browsed through the various themes, plug-ins, etc. and was thinking of what categories I could have. Tested a few Plug-Ins, Played with the PHP codes, etc. etc…..

Truely, these holidays are strange – 98% of the people are on vacations; this year is so strange – Silver Jubilee of my school IISD, Diamond Jubilee of my country India’s Independence, 10th Edition of our magazine “The Torch”….and still more to come. I pray that every day of this year and every year to come must prove to be a blessing for us all! Amen.

Well, I must go sleep now, I’m tired…

Bye Bye!
